Barnsley Pod 4 Winter Installation - Fin

In the weeks running up to Christmas 2010, I spent 8 days in Barnsley town centre working in Pod 4; an empty shop unit opposite the outdoor market.  The installation was commissioned by BMBC, with a remit to transform the space and engage the public.  The installation includes paintings and cardboard, large canvas prints, chalk slate drawings, soft sculptures, photographic portraits and a series of cardboard box paintings. All the images were captured by Richard Hanson

Barnsley Winter Installation - Pod 4

Friday the 10th saw the first day of an exciting installation project at Pod 4, an empty town centre shop unit in the heart of Barnsley.  I have seven days to create and install 'an exhibition' within the space, which I am calling Fabric Lenny Land for now.  I have so far had the help and support of an amazing group of people, including Yvonne Roberts, Lou Sumray, and Anna Connor. The shape of the space is starting to come together with a couple of large acrobatic rabbits, paintings on cardboard, drawings on slate, and behind the scenes an army of fabric rabbits! More to come! All photographs by Richard Hanson.

'Artist Zoo' ilovewestleeds Art Festival Shop

Today saw day one of two 'live art residencies' at the Art Shop in Armley, part of the ilovewestleeds festival.  After meeting the rather wonderful project manager, Fra, Lou Sumray and I spent the day making images inspired by what we viewed through the windows, on the streets of Armley..... what a fantastic day! I also managed to fire off a number of iPhonography shots, along with some video footage. More to come!

Cannon Hall Commission Now Installed!

Following an extremely fruitful period during the summer, the 'Pear Tree' Installation at Cannon Hall Museum and Gardens is now complete and features a large scale digital print, painting on cardboard, a variety of custom vinyl figures, hand painted wooden pears, custom sneakers and an array of cuddly characters. The work was inspired by the Museums' Moorcroft pottery and ancient pear tree collections. The Installation now forms part of the collection at the Museum and is on permanent display.
