154 Exhibition kicks of with a Launch on June 2nd

I am really excited that the 154 Collective exhibition launch is drawing near. I have been working on this project for the past four months and things are really starting to come together. Lots of the work is already ready to hang, with additional work heading off to the printers via dropbox and other file sharing sites. Content so far includes 154 trans Atlantic sketches, a collection of hammers each drawn in 154 seconds, a children's picture book, composite images of both Barnsley and Newham, portraits from the two boroughs and a selection of short films.......The poster image is from German Artist Benjamin Rabe who will be attending the launch and running a workshop with local children.

Uplift Design Work

Here are a couple of flyer designs and a logo I created for the Uplift initiative in Barnsley.
A fantastic project, great people, whats not to like?!

The Birds in Berlin

The 154 collaborative drawings created with my Woven Narratives partner Jonathan Grauel for the 154 Collective exhibition are almost complete.... just six to go. This is one of my favorites of the last few. It was drawn when I was in Berlin last week at the Next 2012 conference. See a post here about the con.

154 Collaborative Sketches

A grid showing some of the sketches
So we are almost there! Our quest to draw 154 collaborative sketches (for the 154 Collective exhibition) using the iPad and the amazing app Sketchshare is nearing completion.... Jonathan Grauel and I have spent the last couple of months creating these sketches in real time between Holmfirth and North Carolina using our wireless connections! See the whole set here.

A Pair of Lost Paintings!!

Today (prior to my trip to Berlin tomorrow to be part of Next Berlin 2012) I have been putting an iPad portfolio together using a new app called Portfolio Pro. Often I go through periods of creativity which are bordering on a STATE OF FRENZY. It's at these times that I tend to make things, put them on one side and forget that I made them. I came across 2 painting today (whilst prepping my portfolio) that must have been made under these circumstances, and I was pleasantly surprised. Its refreshing to come across lost images that you have a fuzzy memory of, and to realise that you were really on to something whilst making them.

Here is a film I supported the making of along with photographer Yvonne Roberts. Great concept, great artwork, great kids!! The project was funded by First Light Movies and was delivered at Stocksbridge Nursery Infant School in Sheffield.
